Enamelling Stainless Steel

A new feature within the product range of Ferro Techniek is matt black enamelled pan supports made out of austenitic or ferritic stainless steel grades. A huge plus for this development is the aesthetic value of sharp angled design compared to other materials like cast iron.

Stainless steel pan supports are produced with an electrophoresis particle deposition technology. This process is giving an homogenise surface coverage and it is therefore extremely suitable for difficult objects like pan supports. Ferritic stainless steel grades are preferred since the relative low thermal expansion coefficient which enables a higher variety of enamel possibilities and improved enamel adhesion. An other advantage of ferritic stainless steel grades is the lower content nickel which is a cost driver for all austenitic stainless steel grades.

Features:

  • Thermo shock up to 400°C
  • Matt black
  • Variety of steel thickness
  • No nickel (when ferritic stainless steels are used)
  • Citric acid resistant
  • Higher break resistance compared to cast iron
  • Tested according EEA (European Enamel Authority) regulations for steel and cast iron.
